In 1992 Blue World Travel launched our first Festival at Sea voyage — The nation's first African American Cruise. In 28 years Festival at Sea has become the most popular African American cultural cruise in the United States. Every year we charter an entire ship with more than 3000 passengers on-board.

 

Festival at Sea is the first cruise of it's kind to cater to a community of attendees representing the African American diaspora. Prior to Festival at Sea, there was a lack of African American music, dance, cuisines and activities found on general cruises. In an effort to bring these cultural aspects to the cruise vacation experience, Festival at Sea's “Cruising with an African American Twist" was born.

Our Goals

Together, we will generate positive brand awareness for our mutual organizations and charter a new course for the next generation of FAS passengers. In 2022 Festival at Sea will be celebrating its 30th anniversary. We want to give you the chance to join as a sponsor prior to the launch of the largest African American cultural cruise in history!

Our Partners

We want to partner with brands that align with our goals to support and uplift African American culture and camaraderie. Our clients love to buy products on vacation and are extremely brand-loyal. We want to partner with brands they can relate to and feel proud of. As a sponsor, you will become a part of our annual programming and marketing initiatives.

Our Product

Every year we charter an entire ship. For three years, we have been sailing onboard the Celebrity Equinox. The Equinox can hold approximately 3000 passengers, plus staff. As a sponsor you will have direct access to all passengers over the course of our 7-day sailing. We can customize all event spaces onboard to maximize your sponsorship investment. 

SIGNATURE EVENTS

The funds generated from our sponsorship program will be used to enhance our signature events onboard. The goal is to upgrade our prize giveaways, provide premium entertainment and invest in marketing materials for all our signature events. We want to take our events and activities onboard to the next level, as well as create new events that will excite the next generation of Festival at Sea passengers. 

Take a look at some of our signature programs below. We offer more than 50 events and activities during our 7-day voyage. 

African Attire Night
Different tribes throughout the African continent pride themselves on their national dress. Typically, they are used for special occasions. We do the same with our on board tribe. African Attire night gives us a chance to reflect on our rich history and celebrate our African Roots.
Costume Theme Night
Costume Theme Night gives passangers the chance to show off their creative spirit. No annual theme is the same. From Circus to superheros to Wild-Wild-West, guests come dressed-to-impress the judges of the costume contest. A winner receives a prize for the best costume.
FAS DJ Battle
DJ's from all over the United States have a chance to showcase their talent on board. You get four rounds to show your technical ability, originality, creativity, music selection, swag and overall presentation. One lucky winner will return the following year to host a signature deck party on-board.
Last Comic Sailing
Comedians from around the country get four rounds to woo the crowd with their humor. Each round is five minutes. Judges critique their ability to keep it clean, improvise and make the crowd laugh. The winner hosts the Last Comic Sailing event the following year on-board.
Fraternity & Sorority Steppin' Contest
Stepping has always been a source of pride and unity within the black community. The Festival at Sea Stomp the Deck Fraternity and Sorority Steppin’ competition offers our sisters and brothers the chance to exemplify showmanship, dance routine and overall originality on-board.
White Night Party
All passengers onboard are draped in white from head-to-toe. Drinks are flowing as our guest DJ spins R&B, Hip Hop & Soul music to the wee hours of the morning. Seeing beautiful black people, dressed in all white, united through our common bond of music is undeniably beautiful.
